Xfinity what is it

Xfinity is the TV and internet service provider for consumers, while Comcast is the company that owns Xfinity. Comcast, being the parent company, owns Xfinity, which serves as its brand providing TV, internet, and home phone services to consumers. Comcast formed Xfinity in in an attempt to untangle this whole brand confusion to begin with. Over the years, they have had some success, but it is clearly still a work in progress as you are here reading this blog. A little background may help.

Comcast began as a company called American Cable Systems. They opened their doors around the s and later changed their name to Comcast Holdings. They did very well early on providing cable TV services, increasing significantly in customer volume. So much so, they were boasting up to tens of millions of subscribers across the nation.

Not bad, considering their customer service was considered terrible by many. For this reason, it has been heavily speculated that this was the motivation behind the brand name change to Xfinity. Perhaps a new name would bring more customers while dodging a risky reputation of poor consumer relations. The easiest way to describe it is that Comcast had Xfinity formed as a new brand offering the same services while Comcast remained the parent company.

As it rebranded its services to Xfinity, each of its unique packages got new names as well. Granted, you can still procure some enterprise and business services under the Comcast brand. However, Xfinity is the telecom brand we typically see this day and age as consumers and providers.

Despite a rumored past with mediocre customer service, Comcast, as its rebranded form, Xfinity, is doing exceptionally well.

Both in reviews and delivery of services. Not only does it go toe-to-toe with other tech and entertainment providers, but it also receives the highest marks, again and again, each year in user experience. We all know that when it comes to our entertainment, we want our products and services to be intuitive and easy-to-navigate. However, considering the fact that you are reading this article at the moment, the company certainly did not do well in clearing the confusion from the minds of the consumers.

Many customers frequently ask the difference between the two brands and therefore, it is important to state the how exactly the two entities differ from one another. Comcast came into existence in the middle of s and is operating successfully in the service sector ever since. The company is well-known for providing internet and cable services to millions of people across the United States and is growing its operations even more in order to reach the remote areas of the country.

Comcast, today, is a global media and technology corporation with two primary businesses including cable and internet. In the year , Comcast was merging with NBC and since it was primarily known for providing internet and TV service, the upper management thought that it was best to launch a new brand in order to avoid the confusion of offering multiple services under the same name and therefore, Xfinity was formed. Xfinity is a brand that is running under Comcast Parent Company and it is widely known for offering internet and TV services to the people of the United States.

Not really. The rebranding strategy did not work as well as the company anticipated. Unfortunately, people are still confused as to what services are offered by Xfinity and what the difference is between the two entities. Although it has been 8 years since the merger and all the rebranding, people are still not sure why Comcast introduced a second brand in order to offer the services to its customers. Moreover, some people thought that Comcast did all the rebranding in order to enter the service sector with a new name because its old image was quite negative and people perceived it to be a company that provides poor internet service.

However, these are just some opinions of the people because such claims were never officially verified by Comcast and the company clearly stated the fact that it has improved its services and is now ready to deliver premium quality services to the customers. Despite its low ranking, Xfinity has higher scores than its competitors in the market which shows that the company has indeed improved its services and the customers are quite satisfied with the speed of the internet and the quality of the channels offered by the service provider.

In addition to this, Xfinity has also improved its customer service in order to facilitate the customers when they come across any service related problems. View Xfinity TV plans. Speeds range from 10 Mbps to 1 Gbps for most areas, and some markets get access to a blazing 2 Gbps connection. The most commonly advertised connection speed is a very respectable Mbps. Stand-alone service is a little pricey, but you can often add fast internet service to a bundle for a very reasonable price.
