The story of Naruto Uzumaki is blessed with a host of great antagonists, from the venomous Orochimaru to the scheming Madara Uchiha , but much of the story is dominated by the Akatsuki - a group of rogue shinobi intent on collecting the world's Tailed Beasts.
Over the course of Naruto 's second half, the heroes take down Akatsuki one-by-one, but in the Boruto sequel series, a second alliance of shady ninja with grand ambitions emerge. Under the name "Kara," this organization's origins stretch back to the very beginning of the Naruto timeline, laying in wait throughout the years for the right time to pounce.
As Kara's endgame draws closer, the good ninja of Konoha Village get wise to their new enemies. Sasuke Uchiha already suspected trouble was brewing, but it was Boruto who inadvertently revealed the existence of Kara when using his Karma markings in battle against Shojoji, the chief of the Mujina Bandits.
The crime lord recognized the technique and cowered in fear, worried that Boruto was somehow attached to Kara. Obviously, Naruto's son was innocent, but Shojoji's words drew Konoha's attention to the existence of this new evil organization.
Since Kara has been operating in the shadows for so long, the group already boasts a powerful roster of core members the Inners , as well as a network of spies and agents the Outers loosely affiliated with the organization. In the Boruto anime, Kara are only just beginning to reveal themselves, but in the manga series, the group has more or less been dealt with.
Here are all of the known Kara members in Boruto. Jigen is the undisputed leader of Kara, ruling over his followers with an uncompromising brutality. The name "Jigen" actually belongs to a monk from ancient times, who serves as the vessel to Kara's true leader, Isshiki Otsutsuki.
Arriving on Earth alongside Kaguya since Otsutsuki always travel in pairs , Isshiki was betrayed and left to die, but managed to inhabit a nearby monk before fading completely. Jigen's goal since then has been to resurrect himself in a more fitting body via the Otsutsuki immortality trick known as Karma and, like Kaguya, use Earth to create a chakra fruit. Jigen has spent years cultivating the perfect vessel, purchasing and raising Kawaki for this very purpose.
In terms of power, Jigen is able to defeat the admittedly rusty pairing of Naruto and Sasuke while still in his restricted vessel form. Had Jigen been allowed to transfer his essence to Kawaki , his power would've been far beyond anything seen previously in the Naruto franchise.
Like fellow Otsutsuki, Isshiki can use space-time jutsu, and possesses the Byakugan. However, his right eye contains a more unique power, allowing Jigen to shrink and regrow objects at will. In combination with his eye technique, Jigen throws black rods, which he can render so small as to be invisible, and restore them again at the last second for maximum impact.
Isshiki has implanted his Jigen vessel with the abilities of Karma, allowing him to absorb chakra attack and power-up like other Karma users.
Kashin Koji immediately caught the eye with a strong visual similarity to Jiraiya, but the similarities didn't end there. Koji's chakra is recognized by Konoha's security system the area Jigen has him patrol , he uses the Rasengan technique, and can also summon frogs. While many speculated this Kara member could be Jiraiya's illegitimate son not exactly a far-fetched conclusion , Kashin Koji was eventually revealed as an artificial clone made from DNA that Jiraiya left behind after death.
Koji was designed to embody the values, spirit and power of his ancestor, and take down Jigen from the inside, posing as a Kara member to learn more about the Otsutsuki and create an opportunity to strike. Kashin Koji's skill set is extremely close to that of Jiraiya.
Boro is an Inner member of Kara who has his own cult following. Boro begins to recruit people into his cult to receive salvation through the Infinite Tsukuyomi as a solo venture.
He promotes himself as a savior and views himself as such. Boro is an arrogant man, believing himself to be revered as a god. Ao is an Outer member of Kara who was once a shinobi of the Land of Water.
After the tailed-beast bombing of headquarters during the Fourth Great Shinobi War, Ao is the only survivor. Outfitted with machinery to improve his quality of life, Ao secretly joins Kara.
Ao uses his body and scientific ninja tools to carry out the orders of Kara. He is a calm man, but he is also tough. In his fight against Boruto, Boruto notes how he has maintained some of his shinobi views.
Even though Ao and Boruto are enemies in the situation, Ao proves that he is still a shinobi at heart and saves Boruto, acting on his own beliefs as an adult rather than on the orders of Kara. Jigen is the leader of Kara and the current vessel of Isshiki Otsutsuki. As the leader, Jigen is seemingly the most powerful member of Kara. Jigen is a ruthless individual, having no qualms with murdering children to obtain a vessel.
He is brutal, but also calm. He takes a very hands-off approach during the Kawaki Arc, only showing up to take care of matters himself after everyone else fails. However, he also overextends himself and taxes his body, something he was aware would happen, but he ignores it to fight Naruto.
Koji Kashin is an Inner member of Kara with an ulterior motive. He is a man of few words as he is more of an observer. He is also being a clone of Jiraiya, so he is strong and a very smart individual. Like Jiraiya, Koji is very perceptive, although inherently flawed.
Koji shows great maturity in his patience and playing the long game in his desire to take down Isshiki. Amado is an Inner member of Kara in charge of research and development. Amado is the one who outfitted all of the Kara members with scientific ninja tools he procured from the Leaf Village. Amado secretly plots to get rid of Isshiki, creating Koji Kashin to be his ally, along with two cyborgs named Ada and Daemon who are more powerful than Jigen. Throughout his time infiltrating Kara, Amado remains very calm, even when Jigen senses there is a traitor in the midst, and when he is a prison in the Hidden Leaf Village.
Although strong, Garou's powers weren't enough to warrant him a spot in the Kara inners, which includes the real powerhouse of the organization.
He was renowned for having the Byakugan, which he got from a branch member of the Hyuga Clan. Although Ao was presumed to have died during the Fourth Great Ninja War, he survived and was used by Kara as one of their outer members.
Aside from being a magnificent shinobi, Ao was amped by the Ninja technology of the organization, which enabled him to take on the entire Team 7 alone. Ultimately, Ao was killed by Kashin Koji for showing compassion to an enemy. Nonetheless, he was a fearsome fighter. Likely the oldest members of the Kara organization, Victor was most likely also the weakest. Out of all the Kara members, he's the one to fall first right after the first introduction of the organization.
Although he is said to have possessed a fearsome regeneration factor along with having some of the most powerful ninja technology at his disposal, Victor fell to Kashin Koji's Samadhi Truth Flames as it proved to be too strong for him.
Surprisingly, no question of his death has been raised so far. Having fallen so easily, it is not a surprise to see him at such a low spot. Amado is one of Kara's Inner members, which automatically makes him an insanely powerful person. He's a brilliant scientist who has managed to create all the intricate ninja technology for the Kara members over the years.
Amado has also modified the bodies of certain Kara members, such as Kawaki, and even the likes of Delta and Boro. When it comes to combat abilities, it appears that Amado isn't as strong as one would think, but his intelligence makes up for that in more than one way. Amado may be focused on a bit more than usual soon. He seems to be a very arrogant person who has no respect for his compatriots. Being a Kara inner, it's not a surprise that Code is likely a person with incredible physical prowess.
Although he hasn't been in any fights so far, Code will be involved in the story at some point, sooner or later. His power is enough to have earned him a spot in the Inner circle of Kara.
